Chloropleth Map

Chloropleth maps are maps that show differences in
values using shading, coloing or patterns. In this way they are very similar to hypsometric maps (which shade according to elevation)

Actually, it's a "choropleth" map. "Choro" meaning area, and "pleth" meaning quantity.

A "chloropleth" would actually refer to something that is a "multitude of green," such as a very large salad.
